Robotically Assisted Surgery at Mather Hospital

Robotic surgery brings the latest surgical technology to our community hospital. When compared with traditional laparoscopic surgery, patients undergoing procedures with the da Vinci system are experiencing such benefits as smaller incisions, less blood loss, shorter hospital stays, fewer complications and faster return to normal activities. State-of-the-art, robotic instrumentation controlled by the surgeon allows for complex procedures to be performed through a few tiny incisions. High definition screens offer surgeons visualization far superior to that of the human eye.

To date, four Mather surgeons have undergone extensive training on the da Vinci system:
