General Statement
The Inpatient Psychiatric Services at
John T. Mather Memorial Hospital provide
an acute care facility for the diagnosis and
treatment of mental illness for adults and
geriatric individuals who cannot be safely
managed in a less restrictive environment.
The adult inpatient service is a 27-bed unit
designed for adult and geriatric patients with
a variety of psychiatric and behavioral
problems including anxiety and panic
disorders, depression, bipolar illness,
schizophrenia and eating disorders. A
supportive environment is created by
professional staff dedicated to stabilizing
and enhancing each individual’s capacity by
developing an individualized structured
treatment plan.
